Be a science detective – Test of observation skills #3 (Part 3 of 3)

It’s a photo of the Great Lakes from space, including Lake Ontario (blue dot), Lake Erie (red dot), and Lake Huron (Purple dot). The mitten-shape land with the green dot is Michigan.

Familiar things can seem unfamiliar in an unusual view. It’s good to practice recognizing both what is familiar and what is unfamiliar, because the ability to spot the unusual leads to scientific discovery. (Especially if you're an astronaut on the space shuttle, you want to discover where you are, and you don't feel like stopping to ask for directions.)
